Water Repellent Technology

UltraZeo water repellents are bio-based, fluorine-free technologies, formulated from the fruit of palm trees. They are designed to keep fabrics and fibers dry in rainy weather conditions.

Textile Auxiliaries

Our advanced, hydrophobic, and fluorine-free water repellents are bio-based technologies designed for use in a wide range of fibers and fabrics to help fight the elements, by keeping clothing and other fabrics dry, in the presence of water.

The traditional, fluorinated water repellents have a similar core ingredient to non-stick pans: fluorocarbons. PFAS as these are commonly known as, are a group of manufactured, environmentally harmful chemicals that are very difficult to break down once released into the environment. They have been used in manufacturing since the 1940’s, including in traditional water repellents but many countries, brands, and consumers are beginning to recognize the harm of fluorinated water repellents to human health and the environment.

PFOA and PFOS are two of the most widely used and studied chemicals in the PFAS group and have been replaced in the United States with other PFAs. EU countries have gradually banned fluorinated water repellents, and China is to restrict the use of fluorinated water repellents in 2025.
